One of my favorite things about having a Benny Booth instead of a traditional photo booth is that if you want to shoot a family portrait without props and get the full size photo, you can!  See...


Of course... props are fun too. :)

Cedaridge Wedding in Bentonville of Kaylee and Jeremy

Hey everybody!

I'm not ashamed to admit that I cried on Kaylee's wedding day... twice. The first time was when I was talking with Kaylee's dad and he shared a captivating story with me.

When Kaylee was a little girl, she and her mother were in the car ahead of him and he watched (in slow motion, he said) as another car wrecked into them. He told me that he couldn't detect Kaylee breathing and that then and there, he fell to his knees in prayer. He told God that if He gave Kaylee back to him he would spend the rest of his life making sure he'd be the best dad he could be.

God gave him back his daughter, and from what I can tell, her dad kept his promise.

The 2nd time was when she recited her vows to Jeremy under a gorgeous arbor outside at Cedaridge.  It was all just so beautiful! The great team at Bates Events helped Kaylee and Jeremy pull the event off flawlessly!


Loved her Betsey Johnson shoes!



A Southern Tradition provided the pews. SO beautiful!!






Here was a neat NON-first look.  He thought it was unfair that she got to see him; she was okay with that. ;)


Ahhhh... Daddy daughter... so sweet!


BOOM. My trigger finger was ready to capture these fun moments!

A Man I Admire

Hey everybody!

When I started Benfield Photography back in 1998, I had a LOT of help from my dad. Not only did he give me my first camera, he encouraged me to be a photographer and supported my business. There were countless times he would guide me in my photography, lift me up and share my work with others, and lend some much needed sharp business advice in the early days of my business. There's no doubt Benfield Photography would not be where it is without Dale Benfield, Sr... my dad.

If he had his way, Dad wouldn't allow me to post this. Always shying away from the limelight, he takes delight in allowing others he helps have the success and glory. He's what I call a silent giver. You might not even realize he is helping you out until you look back at all the times he set you up for success. The Silent Giver also gave me my work ethic. Dad is the most dedicated worker I've ever known, and I treasure how his work ethic is instilled in me. It's one of my greatest qualities (besides my crazy good looks and amazing sense of humor, which I also share with him). Seriously, he taught me that there is pride in doing a job perfectly day in and day out without relent. There's no doubt that I would not be where I am without Dale Benfield, Sr... my dad.

Julie and Brent's Crystal Bridges Wedding

Hey everybody!

Yesterday I introduced you to Julie and Brent - such a great couple! So in love! Well today I'm sharing some of my favorite wedding moments, and their stellar wedding portraits!

They were married at Crystal Bridges, outside with the beautiful grounds surrounding them!


Let me jump ahead of myself really quickly... how hot is this wedding portrait?!  {sigh...}

The bride and groom asked their children to be a part of the ceremony. Obviously, I love that!



And I REALLY love these moments following the ceremony. Such a special time!

Julie and Brent's Engagement Portraits

Hey everybody!

I've known Julie for years... a fellow photographer, she attended my Shoot Your Kids Photography Workshop for Moms with Cameras. When she asked me to photograph her wedding I told her only if she shoots an engagement portrait session with Brent in addition to the wedding (do I always make such requests? nope, but I insisted here!). They're such a great looking couple! I was pumped to head to a couple places I haven't been in awhile around Fayetteville to photograph the two lovebirds. Here are a handful of my favorite images:

Pretty pink flowers... um, yes!



My favorite little gem of a place! I always forget it exists until the perfect couple (with the perfect outfit) comes along!



I love this because of the light reflecting in her eyes - perfect positioning on my part makes this happen! And I love it!



Ooooh, the look!



The composition here is one of my favorites: perfect leading lines and rule of thirds. And of course... Benny Backlight!


Then we ran downtown to another secret spot to get some moody, sexy shots. :)



Here we all are risking our lives for a perfect shot. Just kidding... Sunday afternoons aren't too crazy :)
